Alcohol and Sleep Problems Info




















There is no doubt that alcohol has an effect on sleeping and it may appear that it helps you to sleep, as it makes you drowsy, but there is a down side. The alcohol might make you drowsy, but it negatively effects the second part of your sleeping.

People use alcohol to try and help with their sleeping - problems, but this only works in the short term and it only helps you to get to sleep, it doesn't help you to stay asleep. The sedating effects of the alcohol start to wear off after continuous consumption - night after night and you will find that you would have disrupted your sleeping patterns even more than when you first started. Not only does the alcohol not work in getting you to sleep like it did, it also wreaks having on the time that you spend asleep and your second half of sleeping is in a total mess.

Ask any alcoholic if they have sleeping problems and they will surely tell you yes. If they say they don't, then they either haven't been drinking for long, or they are not telling the truth.

Alcohol also has an effect on sleep apnea, as it can effect the breathing passageways in the lungs which then wake you up and this can happen several times per night. If you have any other sleeping problems, then turning to alcohol is a bad idea, as it can only exaggerate those problems and make them even worse.

Alcohol and sleep problems are directly related to each other and if you are considering going down the path of alcohol to put you to sleep, then don't, as this will more often than not - make your life miserable and leave you feeling tired and grumpy during the day.
